Land north of Cranbourne Drive, Otterbourne
Barwood Land entered into a promotion agreement with the owners of ‘land north of Cranbourne Drive’ in 2022 and is actively promoting the land for landscape-led residential development through the emerging Winchester Local Plan.
The site, which is located between Cranbourne Drive and the M3 motorway, presents a unique opportunity to meet a wide range of housing needs and boost the local economy in a manner which is locally distinctive, highly connected to and integrated with the village. Our vision is the create a sustainable and resilient scheme that will compliment, enhance and form a cohesive and cherished part of Otterbourne.
In particular, the illustrative masterplan for the site demonstrates that alongside c. 70 dwellings, it can deliver c. 6.9ha of attractive public open space including a Local Area for Play. There is also potential to gift the woodland to the south of the site to the Parish Council to ensure this is publicly accessible with the potential to deliver enhanced pedestrian and cycle trails through the woods. Residents would be able to use and enjoy this space as amenity woodland, forming a natural extension to Otterbourne Hill Common and offering footpath connectivity to the existing network.
