Land at Mounton Road is located on the western edge of Chepstow, which is an attractive and vibrant market town in Monmouthshire, close to the Welsh border and has excellent transport connections to key locations including Cardiff and Bristol.
Barwood Land has continued to promote the site through the Council’s emerging new Local Development Plan process, the site has been supported by the Council and is now identified as an allocation for a mixed-use development including around 146 homes, a hotel and care home together with generous areas of public open space and parkland. A planning application for this has also now been submitted and is awaiting validation.
It is expected that the planning application will be determined following the ongoing examination of the LDP by an independent planning inspector and once the LDP has been adopted, which is currently anticipated to happen in spring 2027.
